"He aha te mea nui o te ao? He Tangata! He Tangata! He Tangata!"

"What is the most important thing in the world? The People! The People! The People!"

Akesa Takutaimoana Waitai-Ifopo toku ingoa (Is my name). My name is a representation of all my cultures I am made of. "Akesa" is Tokelauan, "Takutaimoana and Waitai" are Maori and "Ifopo" is Samoan.

Kaitaia has always been my home. I love our town and all people in our community. The whakatauki/proverb I quote in the beginning is a saying I carry with me every day. I am always wanting to do my best for our people.

Outside of work, I am a part of our Volunteer Surf Life Saving Club in Ahipara, known as Far North Surf Rescue. The beach is my happy place, so being a part of this little club is what I love to do.

I am excited to be a part of the company and looking forward to the future.
